Materials differ in surface energy, texture, ink absorption, and heat resistance.Printing on glass requires completely different parameters from printing on wood.
Smooth materials (glass, metal, acrylic): low surface energy. Slower speed and higher resolution are needed for sufficient ink adhesion; otherwise, pinholes or poor adhesion may occur.
Rough materials (wood, stone): uneven surfaces require larger ink droplets and proper curing intensity to prevent ink bleeding or white gaps.
Thin or heat-sensitive materials (film, foam): lower UV lamp power is required to avoid deformation or blistering caused by high temperature.
Using the same set of parameters for all materials will result in poor adhesion on glass, blurry images on wood, and warped film.

4.ICC color curve: Different materials have different background colors and ink absorption properties.The same image will look different on white acrylic and raw wood.Matching ICC curves ensures accurate color reproduction.

Automatic thickness detection & printhead height adjustment: The machine automatically measures material thickness without manual calibration.
Built-in preset material library: Manufacturers provide ready-to-use parameters for acrylic, metal, wood, ceramic, etc. Simply select the material profile when switching.
One-click ICC profile switching: Once color profiles are established for different materials, operators can switch instantly without repeated color tuning.
This means operators no longer need to “explore” parameters from scratch.Most of the time, they just select “Glass Mode” or “Wood Mode” on the control panel and perform minor fine-tuning.
What “Adjustment” Really Means: Only a Few Minutes
Experienced users will tell you that adjustment involves only three steps:
- After changing materials, select the correct preset mode based on the material type.
- Print a test strip to confirm no nozzle clogging or broken lines.
- Fine-tune curing power or height if necessary; once the result is satisfactory, start mass production.
The whole process usually takes less than 10 minutes—completely acceptable for batch production.
When Is Re-adjustment Required?
Re-adjustment is only needed in clear situations:
When switching to a completely different type of material (e.g., from acrylic to wood).
When the same type of material varies significantly between batches (thickness, surface coating).
When seasonal changes cause large fluctuations in temperature or humidity, which affect ink flow.
If you keep printing the same material, settings usually remain stable after the initial setup.
